A Kite Surf Journey Under The Golden Gate

< A recent youtube post by user "kitethebay" is an excellent example of just how useful and cool kites can be. This sailing adventure under the Golden Gate Bridge on a beautiful day shows the pilot along the way on his 23 mile journey. The four minute and twenty three second video covers from launch to landing including parking the kite for a rest along the way.

Redington Beach Pier vs. Kitesurfer during Tropical Storm Debby

A kitesurfer makes a few tacks before finally jumping the pier. I'm not sure if he ( or she ) had a choice or not as the storm was pushing hard and the pier was in his way of a good upwind tack. On purpose or not, he clears it during the most extreme of situations, and had to be hollering the whole way. Amazing kitework, amazing video.

This happened on June 24, 2012. Here's a picture of the pier from just 3 days earlier.
