Kite JournalTuesday December 3rd, 2013And We’re Back...pfft pfft pfft, is this thing on?Welcome back. I had taken a little time away from blogging the last month as the world became too full to keep up with in real time. Work, rest, travel, celebrations, memorials, family, friends, and contractual obligations have kept a pace far exceeding my ability to keep up and so it was time a breath was taken. I have done some work on the site and it's infastructure and I did post a picture or two and a news article here and there, but not much else. There is so much to report on that I am going to have to wait until tomorrow to start covering it all. So let's just start with current happening for now. We are in an iFlite watch as iPreys, IFlite-Uis and iFlite Fusions are headed this way. Patrick mailed them this morning. Expect about a two week delay from Singapore. It's a race to Christmas... I havent read it yet, but the pics are nice. Looking forward to reading the Gary Engvall article. I've been working on a little sewing project in my sparest of times. It has already been quite fun and it wont be long til it's time to tie the bridle. It's a small Bol or Rotor. The plan is from the kite plan base at www.kiteplans.org It's called the "forse rotor" which is a dutch spelling I think. It translates to "substantial rotor" which may or may not be equal to saying "force rotor". That's what I'm going with anyway. So the Force Rotor is a plan for a 5 meter diameter bol, but i chose to go with a much smaller version for practice. it looks to be about 2.5 - 3 feet in diameter. This practice project is using 5 colors in a progressive alternating pattern. Once the smaller verison is done, I will make one about twice that size, and then see where we go from there. This plan lends itself to all kinds of graphical designs so the possibilities are enormous. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
