Kite JournalTuesday July 26th, 2016Bazzer Watch Citya kite flies half way around the worldOh my oh my oh my ... we are on a Bazzer watch for sure. Earlier this month I posted this picture of a kite being created. It is a picture from Bazzer of my new kite in progress!! After all changes that have come to the Revolution quad kitefliers world this year it was becoming clear that very soon the John Barresi Pro kites from Revolution would no longer be created by Bazzer Poulter. It has been a long run of at least 8 years for the JB Signature Series but in late June the word came from Bazzer, "I am not currently in production of B Pros due to ongoing business matters relating to past orders. I hope that this will be rectified very soon, but it is out of my hands and I thank you for your continued understanding and support." And with that the manufacture of the last Bazzer made John Barresi Pro Revolution Kite seems to have come and gone. Soon after Bazzer's announcement came another major statement as John Barresi announced, "I will no longer be endorsing any Revolution kites as of January 1st 2017, so this is the last year all types of B-Series will be made (including factory models)." The Quad world has been rocked. Revolution says that a new "revolution pro" kite will be available in the last quarter of this year manufactured by one of the existing masterpiece kitemakers and it is sure to be a fine kite. And a new pro sail pattern is also expected in 2017. But for now, no Revolution JB-Pros are being manufactured. I had hoped to order a full sail Pro this summer and now that they are not available I decided to take a step off the beaten path and get one of the newly designed quadline kites from Bazzer, the Phoenix Pro. And that explains why there is a kite 9000 miles away from here with my name on it!. Actually, it is already on it's way and should arrive any second. so... we watch .. and wait... ![]() The rods for the frame were drop shipped from flying smiles kites and arrived over the weekend. Excitement Builds! ![]() |
