Kite JournalMonday April 28th, 2014Making Things With Lightwatching for a revolutionRevolution Kites has some new printed kites available and we were looking at them over the weekend and one really caught our eye. Their new "String Art" series has a rainbow version that just has a nice look to it. There were only a few left and one person in the forums had said that they had just reserved the second to the last one. We quickly decided that we should try to get one and the quest began. Revolution was closed for the weekend so I emailed to try and reserve one of the remaining kites. Then at lunch on Monday I called and talked to Lolly at Revolution and we were able to get the kite. I believe it was the last rainbow version available but I can not say for sure. Lolly says that this kite is being named "Spirograph" as the print resembles the art that the ohio art game from the sixties produced. I believe she also said this particular rainbow color scheme will be named "Lite Brite", another reference to a game from the sixties. Cool. We can't wait to see the kite in person and put it into service as Kelli's go to Rev. It comes with the amazing diamond frame and should be a blast to fly in even the lowest winds. These new printed kites are in the process of being produced in Spain and their exact arrival time is unknown at the moment so we are in a bonafide Revolution Watch. Stay tuned for more. |
