streaming the old fashioned way

Some time ago I mentioned being under a "Gomberg Watch". Here at windstock.net a Gomberg Watch means that we have placed an order with Gomberg Kites and are awaiting it's delivery. A postal watch, if you will.

Due to life and other stuff, I never got back to explaining what we had ordered and some things arrived with little-to-no fanfare here on the site. So, to quickly bring things up to date, let's briefly go over the comings and goings.

Once we came home from Kiteoberfest, we decided that we really liked our little red seahorse. It also seemed to gather a lot of attention and comments from people on the beach. Kelli mentioned that she would like to see one in teal and white and with that we decided to get some more. I placed an order for a ten foot yellow and white seahorse and two smaller ones, one purple and yellow and one teal and white. And thus started the great Gomberg Watch of the late two thousand twelve.

When the seahorses came in, Michelle from Gomberg said the the teal one's color was incorrect. There were two purples, instead, We really wanted the teal one, so we were once again in a Gomberg watch while the new teal seahorse was reordered.

Now while waiting for the seahorse, a pilot parafoil appeared on gombergs factory outlet page. It was purple and black and discounted twenty percent. Exactly the colors I had been thinking of. So I ordered the kite as well as a fifty foot streamer tail. The tail would have to be sewn, so it would take a while before it will show up, but the pilot was already sittting on their shelf, so it would make it in plenty of time for the festival. When the package showed up, it was actually a Skyform 60. the wrong kite had been sent accidentally. A quick email to gomberg and everything was fixed, a call tag was sent to me and they shipped the correct pilot immeadiatly.

And about that time the teal seahorse showed up! But we were still under a gomberg watch, because the streamer tail was still being manufactured. We went to the festival without the tail, but I knew it would not be done in time for that.

Well.... the streamer finally arrived today! The streamer is purple with black edges, five feet wide and tapers to a point during it's fifty foot length. It matches the Peter Lynn Pilot Parafoil and looks great. We shall see. Hopefully it flies this weekend.

So for the first time in two months we are no longer on a Gomberg Watch, but that could change at any moment. I'm thinking maybe a bigger seahorse, in green. Hmmmmm.
