Kite JournalThursday July 4th, 2013July Fourththe night went boomIt rained off and on like it has been doing for the last two weeks. We were spared most of it but there was definitely a downpour or two. By the time we made it to the Keystone Heights daytime celebration most people had already left. The parade was earlier and except for having some food from the vendors there wasn't much left to do until it would get dark enough for the fireworks. We had some fun playing in the park and eating lunch, and then headed home to wait for the night. The fireworks here are launched at the lakes edge which is an excellent setting. You can sit on the lake shore and watch over the treeline as fireworks are going off in almost any direction you look. The larger firework shows from nearby cities can easily be seen in the distance and some large private displays as well. ![]() ![]() |
