Welcome to Windstock.net

with a bit of slow journalin

Being busy doesn't always show, as demonstrated lately right here in my journal. Nonetheless much is happening and hopefully things will plane out soon.

I have the new virtual server ready to host windstock so the move over will happen soon. Hopefully no one will even notice it happens. Like I said before, this site has been hosted by godaddy for the last year.

Now to add some new website features that have been in the plans, I need a bit more control over the server. So to achieve that and to have some fun at the same time, I decided to move up to one of godaddy's virtual private servers.

Godaddy is a decent choice but there are many providers out there, and you will also find many people who don't like one or the other. I went with godaddy because they had a big discount as they do quite often. I got the new server for 30 percent off. Full price would have been prohibitive for sure. Shop around if you're thinking of signing up with a hosting service.

There is lots of kiting to talk about, the new AKA Kiting Magazine came out this week and Paul de Bakker flew 50 stacked microns to set a new world record for stacked kites, and mcdonalds has put a picture of ronald kitesurfing on the side of their chocolate milk containers... more soon.
