Kite JournalTuesday March 26th, 2013Heading Into The Home Stretchtime to face the worldWell, we are certainly getting close now! Spike has been a fun project and it is sure to be bouncing around our kite anchors for a long time to come. ![]() Now, Spike may not look like much more than a soccer ball, but that will change once he gets his snout, eyes, and a bridle to attach him to a line. Like I have mentioned before, a portion of spike was my first sewing project, that was just six hexagons and a pentagon. My son was a little disappointed when he realized that I wasn't making the whole spike ball, so I told him once we had real three quarter ounce ripstop, we would make a real Spike. So, that's how we got to this point. Morgan decided the colors and reaffirmed the final choices last night. The snout will be yellow and the eyes will be black over white. ![]() The final production push begins tonight with hot cutting the snout and eyes. The template for the eyes has been drawn, but I am not sure what exactly to do for the snout, so that will be decided as we go. There is no mention of the bridle in the plans, so we also will be looking for a good way to attach those. Fun stuff happening here! |
