Kite JournalMonday February 25th, 2013Feeder Dogs!stitch, boy, stitch...Ok, so turns out, sewing is fun! Who knew?! My first project was just something to get me started with deailing with the sewing machine. I really didn't plan out anything very far, i just wanted something to do. I had a fresh sheet that i had picked up at walmart, so i decided I would work with cloth first and see what trouble i could get into. I decided to use an idea i got from this plan for "spike" from the kitebuilder site. I started with 5 hexagons, and just sewed them together. Then i realized i sewed the wrong sides together, pulled the seems, and sewed them again. Once the five were sewn, I still wanted something to sew, so i cut a pentagon and sewed it in place at the center of the hexagons. Voila! ... little parachute for a ninja turtle. Or some line laundry, I plan to fly it as such the next time we have a lifter up. ![]() Ok, sewing project one complete. Now, Morgan wants me to finish spike, but that's for a later time. We can do spike in ripstop with some colors. Now on to something else... hmmm... I decided on this little plan from the kiteplans.org site, for my first ripstop sewing project. This project is going fast and I really like how it's coming together. More details soon. ![]() |
