Kite JournalSaturday February 16th, 2013Breeze At The ParkRev in the afternoonThe wind had been strong all day as the cold front moved eastward. It had been over eight mph most of the afternoon, with some sustained bouts of twelve to fourteen. ![]() Around four thirty it was in the mid fifties and breezy as I headed to the park. The wind was the best I had flown in for awhile so I didn't really notice the chilly temperature. I setup in the outfield of an empty baseball field. The field next to me was being used by about eight people practicing softball, and the football field had some guy walking aound with a metal detector. Flying on one hundred twenty foot lines for more than an hour while listening to an array of music from Crystal Method's Tweekend and Pink Floyd's Pulse. ![]() The wind would gust and lull at times but mostly it was strong enough to keep the lines tight. It's fun to fly slow under control while the wind is strong and I had lots of fun just meandering around the sky to the music. After a quick seventy five minutes the wind completely disappeared as the clouds began to form behind me. I stood in the field holding the handles for a few minutes and then realized there was no hope, the switch had been thrown. I packed up and headed home. Another excellent Rev session. ![]() ![]() |
